Always thinking:

Archive Catalogue

This archive catalogue should contain the following information in relation to each box:

The internal reference number assigned by the owner to the box.

A detailed description of the material stored in the box.

The review or destruction date applicable to the box.

The applicable security level. The name of the person responsible for placing the box in storage.

Document Storage - Cataloguing

The classic computer maxim “Rubbish in, rubbish out” also applies to document storage.

It is well worth taking the time to ensure that the initial cataloguing of the document archive is done properly. When you want to retrieve documents later you need to know where they are!

Full support to catalogue your archive – we can take the lead

We can provide professional assistance in setting up an archive catalogue and train staff when necessary. Many new clients complete this process themselves with our help, but some prefer that we take the lead in the initial cataloguing of the archive. We make this process straightforward by either:

  • providing a Cataloguing Service to archive the new archive for you prior to collecting the initial boxes for storage,

    or by

  • providing an easy to use Cataloguing Spreadsheet for you to use when you detail the items to be stored.

Talk to us about how we can make cataloguing easy for you

New Archive - Easy To Establish

Dealing with Janet Gibbons [CEO Ardington Archives] was a good experience from start to finish. She was professional in the presentation of the business but personable with it. The process was very slick and she talked us through every step of the archiving process which was flexible in terms of our business requirements. If you are looking to archive documents I would not hesitate to recommend Ardington Archives.
